REPRODUCTIVE CYCLE

The cycle begins with the selection of the breeders, mature animals which may have come from fishing or from farming. It is usual to choose 25 g animals for selective fattening which brings their weight up to 40 g.

Copulation
Adapted to a cylindrical tank with capacity for 9.000 liters of water, copulation is carried out between the male and female. Although courting is a long process copulations lasts less than one second.

The semen which is gelatinous adheres to the inferior part of the rib cage area of the female among the back legs.
